FAQs

Thirdmill Institute was purposefully created to have churches and local Christian leaders come together to create and foster a space to help one another grow in Biblical knowledge and ministry skills. These spaces are known as learning communities that are led by someone in the local community, who is further known as a trainer. Being a trainer requires no prior background, and Thirdmill Institute has tools that are helpful to trainers to use that will facilitate their learning community time.

“How can I receive training to be a trainer?” Becoming a trainer is a simple and easy process; it is efficient for any person who is committed to their students, a regular schedule, and is prepared to facilitate and learn more for themselves. The primary responsibility of every trainer is to lead discussions and track the progress of students to ensure they are gaining a well-rounded experience with the Institute.

Therefore, becoming a trainer can be accomplished by watching the videos and webinars available on the website, as well as reading the manuals. For some, the most convenient way of receiving training may be by finding an in-person training event that is taking place near you. These events can be found by contacting Thirdmill Institute on our website, or by contacting a training advisor.

Local Training Events

Training Events happen across the globe and at all different times throughout the year. These training events train potential trainers, which then lead to the start-up of learning communities in the local area, and even further connect Thirdmill Institute to more people.

During these events, and because of the design of the Institute’s curriculum, trainers are guided and prepared to properly facilitate conversation between students, and be in a position to learn how to apply the information to their own lives and in relationships with others. The purpose and credibility of the Institute can only grow and become more effective through the influence of already established learning communities and churches that actively use the Institute. These learning communities and churches have the ability to reach more people of many different backgrounds, understandings, and beliefs. It is with the dedication of inviting and welcoming others into the purpose of Thirdmill Institute that we as the body of Christ may all be able to be a part of the growth of the Kingdom of God.

Each of these training events is put together in the hopes that they will properly cater to each specific area and to the individuals who are attending the events. At a specific training event happening in India this summer using Thirdmill’s Hindi materials, the South Asia Area Director reported that an attendee had walked seven hours from his home to attend the event. The attendee shared how “profoundly grateful he was to Thirdmill for going to the trouble to bring sound theological training to such a remote place.”

In India, practicing Christianity can place individuals in a position to experience intense persecution and attacks. Thirdmill Institute’s curriculum can not only further inform and educate Christians, but also give them the space to feel emboldened by their faith to stand against the violence and persecution they face. Many Christians in India deal largely with religious syncretism, emphasizing the necessity of sound theological and Biblical knowledge, therefore making it so profound for any Christian in India to seek that out.

It is important to Thirdmill Institute that those who wish to become a trainer have access to the proper training needed and feel safe in that process. The purpose of Thirdmill Institute is to create a safe, and welcoming place for people who desire to learn and understand theology deeper and live out their faith in how God has called each of us to do.
